Fatma Duman / Puset Polvan Secondary School
Within the scope of our project, various e-safety activities were planned and implemented to ensure that students act consciously and safely in the digital world. These activities were prepared considering the students’ age levels and needs and were designed in line with the principles of collaborative learning and technology integration.
First of all, visuals containing informative messages about e-safety were prepared in the classrooms, and these visuals were exhibited within the school to create an E-Safety Board. Thanks to this board, students had the opportunity to see the basic rules of e-safety and the points they should pay attention to at all times.
In addition, an E-Safety Presentation prepared and delivered by Puset Polvan Secondary School preschool teacher Fatma Duman was presented to the students, and the basic concepts were conveyed interactively. After the presentation, digital assessment tools such as Kahoot and Wordwall were used to provide feedback to the students and to measure how well the topic was understood in an enjoyable way.
During the project process, collaborative activities were also carried out to ensure active student participation. Students formed mixed teams to prepare awareness-raising messages about e-safety, these messages were visualized with AI-supported tools, and presented with voiceovers in different languages. In this way, students’ digital literacy and multilingual skills were supported.
Using the creative writing technique, students were encouraged to write original texts in their own words explaining the importance of e-safety. Students visualized the texts they wrote using AI tools and created digital stories. Thus, their creativity was developed and they gained experience in using technology ethically and innovatively.
All these activities were organized in mixed teams among the project partners, supporting students to develop international collaboration and team spirit. The activities were carried out with a learner-centered approach that prioritized student participation; students’ awareness of digital citizenship and responsible internet use was increased. This collaborative effort was put together by project founder Fatma Duman.
